I have made a new discovery !! (I feel like Thomas Edison) If you use Canon's standard nomenclature for folders (3 numbers 100-999 followed by 5 letters) and the contents of said folder follow the IMG_1234.JPG or .CR standard, you can move the entire folder over to your SD. No need to create it in the camera, allowing you to use folder names more directly descriptive of the contents.

This makes absolutely no sense.

And has nothing to do with a Nobel Prize.

Wow. You really think within a very tiny box.

I don't think you got the Nobel prize. The Nobel prizes are awarded to those accomplishments that contributes to peace. You didn't really create peace on the UHH did you?

Actually there are 5 original categories, Peace is just one. The other 4 are Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine and Literature. Those original 5 were established by his will. In 1968 Sweden’s central bank established the Prize in Economic Science in memory of Nobel. The Nobel Foundation awards it along with the others but it’s funded by the central bank.
But I still think he’s out of luck unless those that choose the winner of the literature award take a particular like to his post here.

I don't know about the camera but plugging the USB to the TV works well as far as image quality is concerned. Sending over Wifi in some cases the images aren't full 4K. I guess you can make it 4K but I don't think it's simple. However, using the USB stick the TV built in slide show software doesn't have many features a regular slide show program has. I can't even change the interval between slides.
I wonder if I get 4K images using the camera. Anybody knows?

If your images are 3840x2160 pixels then you can get 4K.

Cheaper? How do? I already have the SD cards, the camera, the cable, and the TV. I need nothing more. Why bother with the added expense, work and clutter of anything else?? If you use the USB technique and like it, that is fine. I just don't need it.

The USB sticks are cheaper than the SD cards. As far as clutter the camera is a real clutter when using it as a slide projector. But any way do what you want.

I can get 4K out of the camera HDMI port? My images are modest but they are 16MP which is more than 3840x2160. I haven't tried but I doubted it.

Your images will be 4K. You’d need to check your camera literature to determine what the HDMI output supports. I’m guessing if your camera shoots 4K video then it will output at 4K

Oh my camera doesn't shoot video. Check the manual and I can set the output resolution of the HDMI port. The top resolution is 1080i (not even 1080p). The highest progressive output is 720p. So that would rule out my use to display the images on TV.

Reinventing a square and calling it a wheel ... they don't give awards for those efforts either, at least not the kind of awards you want to acknowledge.

I do turn a word well don't I ?? Physics maybe? Peace? Perhaps one could say that by causing a kerfuffle amidst the group, and everybody vents and gets hostility out of their system, that would qualify me a a peacemaker ??

Ah but you forget, the dog in this race is the camera taking pictures, for which you DO need an SD card, which you can then use for the tail, displaying the pictures. The stinking USB sticks are of no help in getting the pictures taken, and are just useless clutter. Keep the planet clean, scrape off the superfluous junk.

Checking the manual for the D850 it can output 4K resolution with the HDMI port. I guess something like the Z9 can output 8K resolution with its HDMI port.
