Was out by the lake the other day taking pictures of what looked interesting. Came upon an owl and a cardinal, and then sat down to get some images of a great blue heron that was flying by about forty yards away. Just about to get AF lock on it, and a dragonfly flew right into the middle of my view finder, and the AF got a lock on the dragonfly instead. I have tried to capture hundreds/thousands of pictures of dragonfly's in flight, but they all failed for one reason or another. This one was pure luck - so I will take it.
Olympus EM-1 Mk III with f4/300mm prime.
Enjoy!
Great Shots! It's always about being in the right place, right time and pray for a little luck. Your prayer was answered. I love the shots.
Those photos are AWESOME!
Congratulations.

Great fortuitous captures! Thanx for sharing!
It may have been luck it flew in front of you but it was your skill that got the photos!

All great pictures, nice and SHARP. Your fortuitous dragon fly is interesting in addition: It shows how the wings are used. Thank you for posting!
