I prefer the first one. It gives an air of f mystery. The second one for me is a bit like, let me see how outrageous I can be with this image. And this is from someone who thinks outrageous is normal.

I thank you for your input and can see what you are saying.

Both images are worthy. The first evokes a sense of mystery or foreboding. The second is full of energy and fun. I like them both.

I am a little awestruck by the explicit details that you were able to wrench from the depth (or in this case height) of almost total darkness. From that standpoint it certainly is a masterpiece. From a strictly impressionable standpoint the original does it for me. I like it . . .

Thank you for stopping by and commenting. They are certainly on opposite sides of the specrtum

I like the potential of the original image, it could go so many ways. I also like your result - it looks to have been dealt a healthy dollop of one of the less subtle Ps blending modes like colour burn or, more likely, colour dodge. Folk are sometimes hesitant with some of those because the result can be a bit extreme. However you got there it does offer some great opportunities with, say, a Goth model or perhaps Dracula! Keep them coming Fran.

Magnetoman, thanks for your comments. I like to experiment, especially on images that I am not fond, I hate to just delete them and my manipulations are always a learning expeience

I really like the first one, and might like it even more if it were flipped horizontally so the steps start from the left side. Very nice.

Thank you for your comments. I didn't imagine flipping it...good idea
