My only complaint with Wordle is that sometimes you have more valid words to try than you have guesses. For example, in three guesses I found that the last 4 letters are "atch" with only 3 guesses left. In "hard mode" you must use all the letters you have found in each subsequent guess. So what is the answer batch, catch, hatch, latch, match, patch, watch...

If you have not become addicted to this daily word game, you really should give it a try. I find it very challenging, and it makes me concentrate once a day. I highly recommend you look at it. Just google Wordle at New York Times. It’s free and fun. Let us know what you think.

I have a good streak and have never needed 5 to win.

Mine is "stein". And by the way, try Wordle Unlimited. Same game, same graphics but unlimited games per day.

Thanks for sharing that there is a World Unlimited. I have added it and tried it.

I'm adding everyone's openers to my list of great words; these will help me by being second words.

I've had a couple of similar ones. One I got on the last try and the other I lost.

As I am an old English teacher, it's interesting to do from time to time, but I am certainly not addicted to it, as some are.

Forgiefe mec, but I didn't know they still taught old English. Hope they don't start using it in Wordle!

I love it. I do it every day. Wish there was more than one puzzle to solve. A nice half hour break in my day. 🙃
Edited to add: Just did todays enjoyed the 4 minutes it took.

Can't get enough Wordle and want more. Try quardle. It's more than 4 times the fun. My opening words are CLONE then TRASH and if Necessary IMPLY. They cover 18 of the 26 letters leaving behind the lesser used consonants and U

I got mine in 3 today also. Lol. I've only been playing 5 days and now that I have an idea of the words they use it is becoming easier. Still fun though.

I, on the other hand, have become somewhat addicted--as have my wife, several of my daughters and sons-in law.

I would be interested in seeing what everyone's favorite opening word is. Mine is "stare".

Mine is "raise." If that yields only one or zero vowels, I go with "youth" to check for the remaining vowels plus the "y." If my first guess gets two vowels, then I try "touch." I lost one game early in my 'wordle' journey before I began employing 'sacrifice' guesses to eliminate letters. That day I tried "swill," "shill," and "still" before striking out. The word of the day was "spill." Anyway, I find it to be an enjoyable diversion during the day.

Instead of trying the next letter that will go with what you already have, try a new word using as many of your "unused" letters if you can. My opening words are CLONE, TRASH and IMPLY (explained elsewhere in my comments) which I follow with words like FEUDS or BUDGE to narrow down later guesses.
