This is in the town of Arnarstapi and was built to commemorate Bardur Snaefellsas. Legend has it that he was half troll half human and protected the people that lived on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula.

Cliff with an opening and a small cave inside. This was a pretty steep climb to get to the entrance of the cave.

Inside the cave with a small stream flowing through it.

Looking toward the ocean from the entrance to the cave. You can see the parking lot with the highway behind the vehicles. It's all downhill from here for me!!

Especially number four for me.
Very nice captures. Sure is rugged country.
I took a look at all of your postings and it looks like Iceland is a landscape photographers paradise. I hope to travel to Iceland this summer. I am booked on a cruise to Greenland which leaves out of Iceland. I am looking forward to the trip. Your pictures are very motivating. Thanks for posting.
Number 3 is very interesting. Check out the resemblance to this structure, called an oratory, I believe, located on the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland. Very nice set!

The trip of a lifetime. Just looked up Icelandic language, looks difficult to learn.

Yes, one heck of a trip!
It's interesting that most people in Iceland speak fluent English.
(Put a sentence or three in Google Translate. I couldn't learn it easily...)

Thank you, Longshadow!! That was a pretty interesting rock formation. There was a guy there flying a drone around the structure getting a shot from every angle that he could.

I wonder what his pictures might look like.

Thank you, NMGal! The volcanoes have really shaped a large portion of Iceland. I would hate to try to walk two miles across some of that volcanic rubble!

Thank you, AJ! The little hut that you posted must have taken a long time to build. Every stone is shaped and formed and very neatly placed. Thanks for posting!
