You are asking for a miracle. Oh never mind you said thoughts not proofs. Thoughts anyone can have no matter how bizarre. I have yet to have a proof from a left leaning person. Lol

This is nothing new. Africans have been exploited for their labor in such things as mining diamonds and gold and cultivating coffee. I'm sure the list is much longer than that. The only answer is not to buy these commodities until conditions change. That solution is not happening.

Exactly. People in the world do not want to be inconvenienced by anything. Lol. On the other side people are only exploited if they allow it. Unfortunately humans have a hard time sticking together in a group. If the labours all just didn't work things would change. I tried to get a group of 21 guys to stick together to change working conditions that they b***hed about for 3 years and were correct in doing so. Nope only 7 would commit to supporting the demands.

Well, remember that to those on the left feelings are far more important than thinking - critical thought is comlpetely alien to them.

Everybody has been exploited at one time or another. No 'race' holds the trump card there.
Southern England was routinely raided for 's***es' to be brought back to the Barbary coast...white s***es.

It goes on to this very day...more s***ery in the world right now than there was at the time of the US Civil War.

Let's face it. Businesses will do anything to make money. People don't matter. They never have. There are abuses all over the world - the USA and third-world countries.

PLUS!!!!

Nobody ever thinks about what happens to those batteries when they are trashed. Clean? Nope! Total pollution.

Even the fan blades on those huge wind generators are not biodegradable, nor are they recyclable.

AND - what about those solar panels. What happens to those when they have outlived their usefulness? IDK, but I'm guessing that they aren't recyclable either.

Back ‘atcha from the other side of the coin.

I assume the facts in the video are true since they mirror problems in numerous other industries dealing with countries struggling with extreme poverty. Car manufacturers - as have a number of cell phone manufacturers - have to examine and manage supply chain sourcing to eliminate exploitation and help those struggling countries normalize their economies. By “normalizing” I mean what the US has accomplished over centuries: child labor, compulsory education, fair employment practices, unions, strikes, and investigative journalism.

The elements of complete lifecycle costs and impact must consider everything from extracting raw materials, to manufacture, to operation and use, to disposing of products at the end of life. Where do Prius batteries go when the reach their EOL?

All the consumer has to go on is price - and good investigative reporting. And the consumers’ power is in their wallets.

BTW For EVs a particular concern I have is the source of the electricity used to recharge the batteries. “Greener” doesn’t count if it merely shifts pollution to a different, less visible source.

Well, think about this? A few weeks ago there was a huge pileup of cars and trucks in PA in snow and cold weather. I am sure traffic was backed up for miles. Now image if all those miles of cars were electric, and soon their occupants would be freezing in their "dead" electric cars much less what a job it would be to haul them all to the nearest charging station.

No one is thinking this through.

Plus the fact that most neighborhoods don't have the electrical infrastructure to allow more than 3 EVs

The cycle will never end. Mankind is the largest threat to mankind. The industrialized nations continue to push their needs, and problems, onto the lesser developed nations where their people are "out of sight and out of mind" and thus become 'disposable' to fulfill the needs of other nations.
