Great car. First one I ever saw was a white roadster in Fairbanks, Alaska way back in 1961. Not a great place for a car like that back then, no place to go. Always nice to see a great shot of such a classic.

Pretty car but I would not want one. They are way too expensive and probably not comfortable to drive.

Quite the contrary...a joy to drive.

I bought one like that...a 1967 Series 1 fixed head coupe (British for hardtop) in 1975 for $2800 and drove it for 5 years. I know it's a Series 1 because of the glass covered headlights.

Aptly named as it moved like a cat. I drove a friend's same year Corvette a few times and there was no comparison as it was brutish, not elegant and smooth like the Jag. The XKE was also quite fast for a 260 cu. in. (4.2 liter) inline six cylinder (265 hp) with three SU carbs. Top speed was 150 mph and 2nd gear was useable from 5 mph to 90 mph.

I really miss driving that car, but to replace it now would cost a small fortune.

I've always thought that if some company manufactured this same looking car with modern, up to date features . . . that it would be a big seller. It very high on just about everyone's list of the "most beautiful car" inside and out.
Thanks for showing this photo . . . lovely.

Wanna buy mine? 1969 XKE Coupe, 4.2 liter straight 6, 4 speed. Will squeal rubber in three gears. Fits like a glove. A true pleasure to see and drive. Reasonable offers accepted. LOL

I was sad to see the XK150 go away in favor of the E model. Same holds true for the MG TF giving way to the MGA. At least Morgan has stayed with the old classic style.
