i get the idea and you did a good job with it, but I don't think that your subject lends itself well to b/w

I think that the subject itself needs more contrast. One aspect of that would be deeper darks which is actually reducing the contrast between the subject and the background, but stronger definition will give the subject more separation from the background. The theme is low key so a lack of bright highlights shouldn't be a problem, but there is definitely a need for stronger detail and definition. Some extra sharpening might help as well.

I would give a vertical correction to until the outcropping... then crop tight on what is now the right and next do a horizontal flip so as to end with the tallest on the right as in reading from lower left to upper right.

Jack, as mentioned previously needs more contrast. I don’t think you can make the sky any blacker. So a bit of lightning on the mountain should do.
