The wonders of new technology . .
New tv, yup, been there with that. Difference was I have a son living at home. After losing my mind for about 45 minutes, yelled for my son to help. 10 minutes (at most) later tv was up and running!

I got a bit of flack publishing this on our local facebook page. The surgery is currently pushing e-consult.
In the US, the push is not only to send messages to your doctor, it includes "video visits" where you get your consultation on any device that has a camera and a microphone. This includes phones. When you message your doctor, you may attach pictures that show a problem. Having been on the receiving end of these messages/pictures/video visits, I can tell you that there is enormous risk in not examining someone face to face, and yet this is the trend these days. I can say this because I'm retired and won't name the medical organization I worked for.
Ain't that the God's-honest-truth.

Same here. E consult is before you get to the doctor, a bit like a multiple choice Q & A that the Dr. assesses and then decides on an initial course of action. It's not universally liked.

We have the situation where you have had to get 2/3 minutes into all the verbal garbage before they say "If you have a life threatening emergency phone 999". They have now moved it forward but still not the first thing the recording says!!
GPs complain how busy they are but all their extra procedures must take loads more time than the old tried and tested way. They should be grateful they haven't been working in a Covid Intensive Care department!
Hi Nigel
It is becoming like that in the UK - they seem obsessed with the new technology and forever sending text messages when you have had a letter advising you of an agreed appointment - it is tedious, time-wasting and makes all normal interactions unnecessarily complicated.
