OK, how many Mac Mini owners are going to line up for the Studio?

New multi-M1 machine just announced by Apple.

And, having just gotten a MacBook Pro M1 for Christmas, it's too soon to think about moving to the next level. Ask me next week.

Was just getting ready to replace my mid-2011 Mini, all tricked out of course, when I read about the Studio: Base model 32gig ram/512 gig drive/ and so many ports, soooo many.

I've got all this GAS pent up. Somethin's gotta give!! Argggghhhhhh!

Ha me too! Christmas Present arrived Dec 23. I love that 16” real MacBook Pro. It’s much better than the 2015 “cheese slicer” MacBookPro. The new one is heavy because it has a heat sink. So the processor can run balls out continuously without overheating 🥵 and slowing down.

To answer OPs question, I might get one for work, when we go back to the office, as a replacement for my MacPro “trash can” model. I say “might” because I’m not sure if the Studio can drive three monitors. If it can drive 3 monitors I will get one.

Don't have a Mac Mini to replace, but a 2013 27" iMac. Not sure if Apple is going to come out with an updated Apple Silicon 27" model. There is a large price gap between the base 24" iMac ($1299) and the new Studio Mac with Apple monitor ($3598), so I'm hoping that Apple fills this gap. I'll probably wait until this summer or fall and see what happens to the 27" iMac and Mac Pro although I'm sure the latter will be way out of my price range.

In the Apple video, there is a short segment showing a user with 3 of the new displays.

That would do it! :) Now of course now that is demo and we all know how demos work. If the real hardware supports 3 monitors then I'm in!

The setup in the photos with the three monitors costs a minimum of $6800, I need deeper pockets....

That’s why I said it would be my work computer. I have three thunderbolt monitors at work. We have been working from home since the shutdown March 2020. We are to return next month. I’m up for a new computer.

I only have one monitor at home. ;)

I believe that a big Ole Pan of baked beans might help with that GAS!

It's a step up for those who want a production studio on their desk.

The Mac Studio Ultra will support at least three monitors as I remember it from reading. The Mac Studio is designed to replace the Mac PRO and the iMac PRO according to the agent I spoke with this morning. My future plans may include one of these. Best of luck.
