I've had my time on this forum tons of great people and love coming here, but one big issue is one of that "I must have done something wrong or said something wrong". If so I'm sorry, but if honesty hurts then it shouldn't be able to be critiqued. I've taken a lot of my time to try and help, make suggestions, and so forth for people whom ask. Not because I had to, but because I wanted to. This makes day 3 that I have posted and asked for critiques and so on, but have yet to have any reply other than today and that was by two of which I got great help from, for them Thank you! But then seeing the way bob is now treating people not that he's back and everything else I've been seeing, I want nothing more to do with this forum as it's headed down hill. As for bob, someone made an adjustment to your photograph and you flip the walls and leave the forum then come back with this big bad john attitude, it's sad... Good luck to all of you and happy shooting, but as far as I'm concerned, this forum is a waste of my time and knowledge, I refuse to help those whom won't help me. It's part of life, I know, but it's a part of life that I'm moving on without dealing with. It's not worth it. DB your great, love your photographs and I really like you as a person, thank you! Rach! Same goes for you, I think your doing great and thanks for your kind words! Sinatraman, another awesome person, thanks for all your help you've been great from the beginning. For the rest of you whom helped me and took the time to comment or critique my photography, thank you! You all are great people but, but I'm done on this forum. Good bye and wish you all the very best! Happy shooting all!

Just a few to remember me by!
Just a few to remember me by!...

good luck to all of you
good luck to all of you...

as you've all been wonderful friends!

I could not agree more. What has happened to this site? I was excited to join and have met some really cool & nice people on this board. I know that I came in with a " please give me a good critique" attitude, but have since changed my mind. I want to know what I am doing wrong. Like you, I posted last night on a picture I was proud of and nothing.

Please don't leave, I really enjoy your pictures. I just can't add anything but a "great job" or "I really like this one the best", because you and so many on here are way out of my league. I could not possibly give you advice on how to take a better photo.

Please don't leave.

Thank you for your kindness, but I have no reason to stay without proper respect from others. Critiques are great and everyone whom ask for them, should get a response within a proper time, but 3 day's is not proper, it's more insulting than getting pure bad feed back...
Does anyone know where I can find the stupid link to unsubscribe?

I've only been a part of this for a week or so; in fact, I think this is my 11th or 12th posting. I've seen some of your work, and I like them - especially the squirrels. I have a collie who would be bracing to chase those suckers if she ever saw them, they're that good.

Now, why haven't I said anything? Because I'm new at this site and am trying to get a handle on who the talkative ones are and what (and how) they say what they say. I shall, in all likelihood, be posting more and more as time goes on. I don't want to inadvertently step on any toes, y'see, so I hold my tongue. Also, sometimes I really don't have anything to say. It's nothing against the photographer, but I don't believe in praise for praise's sake. I wonder if that's not true of many people here.

Oh, there are some, sure, but maybe when you ask for advice, people take your request seriously enough to not tie up the site with empty words. Sometimes, I've found, the less said is better.

I'm sorry you're leaving as I've just begun to become active, but that is your decision. I, for one, wish you the best in life and photography.

Slainte,
Dave K

I very rarely get replies when I ask for cc, honestly I don't get much feed back in general, but I still offer my feedback and don't cry "foul" and refuse to help others.

There are so many new posts on a daily basis here, people just can't keep up. I don't offer cc on every photo, I honestly don't have time. I also don't off cc unless someone asks for it and it's an image I feel I can help on. I'm also not one to post "great job" unless I feel it truly is a wonderful image. It's just the way I am.

I've seen quite a few photograph post you have put up, but seen no need to critique do to the many whom have already posted feed back on your work. You do a wonderful job. You already know that! However, I just can't get anything back on my work and haven't been able to for the last 3 day's saying which makes me feel as if I've said or done something wrong on the forum. However, do you know how to unsubscribe? I need help with this now...

Thanks Dave, I can't say that I've ever seen any photographs posted by you? I don't spend much time in the discussion board so if that's where your post are, then that would be why I have not posted in your post.

No, J, I've been a bad wolf and not posted anything yet. I know you've read my request for a lost tripod part (because I just replied to you about it), so maybe you know my reason for not posting any photos yet. I shall, though, and I do hope you stick around to see them.

let me add a personel please don't go, i would miss you. You are on a small list ( tilde, notnobuddah, bob, fivedawgs, ian, yooper, kramer and a few others) who I will automatically check out if i see a post started or a post answered by any of my group of highest respect. Just take a break. I have almost burned myself out as well. The posts on this site are starting to come as fast and furious as german machine gun bullets on omaha beach. Therer is simply no way to keep up. Ive noticed that in one day if there is little traffic on your post you can go from page one to the bottom of page 4 in 224 hrs. Please don't go you are one of the few friends i've got. 8-)

If you get the UHH newsletter, you should be able to put the sender in your block list. As far as the forum goes, just don't come back. Not sure what else to tell you. The forum has a huge majority of fairly new users. Many do not feel qualified to critique. Others are fearful of getting lashed out at for giving less than stellar critiques. What's left is a circle of people patting each other on the back over somewhat mediocre pictures. That's what happens on places like this. It's the nature of the beast.

Thanks for your honesty. You and Sanatraman are both correct, as well as everyone else. I do receive the UHH newsletter but find it useless on my behalf do to all the new comers each day so it seems. I'll just post my pix where others are allowing that style of photographs and keep critiquing others work.

 I also find it's hard to offer critique when the forum is full of "just share" photos. The forum is getting weighted down with "Look At Me" posts and some posts asking for CC are getting lost in the shuffle. There are some here (any any photo forum) that just want to share their images and be told they are great, others that want critique so they can grow, I feel bad for those that are wanting to get better but aren't getting the help they need/want.

Thank you for your edit in my portraiture II series. As I learned as much from you as anyone on that thread. Remember the enlargement?

You will be missed.

Sorry you are leaving. When people ask for CC on their photo's I do not chime in because I am far from a professional and do not want to make a suggestion that misleads. When CC is requested, I leave that for the pros since they can actually give criticism that will benefit. If others are doing the same, that would explain why you do not get a reply.
I do chime in on equipment because I have researched and experimented with many lens, camera modes, and settings so I feel I have something to offer there but CC I am not an authority on.

The photos you posted look awesome to me so what can I possibly suggest? More posts? I would like that if you would consider sticking around. The site is growing and more pro's will be joining to critique if you can wait for it.
