About the digital aerials, it is impossible in Spain to get a digital signal off an analogue aerial, and probably the same in most countries unless you use a dish or cable service.
S&H is calculated as part of the selling price. Always has been.
"Get another one FREE, just pay S&H". They just sold another one, which goes in the same box for just a little more actual shipping.
For almost all products under about $100, the actual cost of the product itself is next to nothing.
But but but... I am a pro, and I use cheap (sometimes really cheap) stuff all the time.
It just depends on the job I guess.
The UK shut off its last analogue signal in the whole country in Northern Ireland a few days ago. I use the same antennae as when it was analogue to receive Digital Television I have loads of channels on freeview and I have a brilliant digital picture. there are still more normal aerials in the UK than dishes or Fibre Optics. Now the whole country is Digital.

That's odd. I get a perfectly good digital signal from my 30-year old (analogue) aerial.
Maybe cos you are in London in a good signal area. No mountains in between ;-)

True. Don't got no mountains here.
I have loads of mountains and Dumfries sits in a valley no problem here.
Yes, people are dumb.
A person may be smart, but a group is dumb.
Funny, I've been noticing more things being called "pro" or something similar lately.
Must be time to round up the lemmings for christmas...

More and more I am seeing (mainly on ebay of course) but also in retail outlets such ads as
"Professional tripod" £25 ($40)
or
"PRO studio flash units" £65 ($104)
Pro, are you kidding, do people really believe for one moment (or fall for) that just because someone has written "professional" on something that it really is?

Maybe, for tripods, "entry-level" doesn't cut the advertising mustard.
How about "Really cheap, but not too bad!" ?
Better yet, how about the ads that show the price reduced from $400 to $3.99 - for a limited time only.
A few years ago, there were full-page ads for "designer sunglasses." The best part was they were free! All you had to pay was the shipping. One thing struck me as strange. The free sunglasses with a list price of $99 cost about $12 to ship, but the ones with a list of $499 cost $30 to ship.

ran into the same crap with my credit card bonus's. $7.95 S&H. i was up for 9 peices BUT each peice was to be shipped seperatly. i calculated that each peice cost about $0.55 to make in china. some profit on a free item.
O.K., I'm in the biz...so to speak...I do a lot of advertising photography. And I work with these folks...
Having said this...I STILL REFER TO THEM AS "MARKETING PIMPS!!!"
Short answer -- Yes, apparently so. If a grocer puts up a sign saying Green Beans, 30 cents each or 3 for a dollar -- people will buy in lots of 3 all day long.
