May God bless and comfort his family.

Here are boats at Kona-Kailua on the big island of Hawaii. They gather at this spot by the Outrigger Kona Hotel every night and snorkelers wait in the water under lights set up to attract manta rays.

Brent's photos were the first one's that brought me to UHH due to their quality and content. So very sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family.
We lost one of us, irreplaceable...Rest in Peace, Brent...We are going to miss you a lot...
Wow, so sorry to hear about Brentβs passing. He had personally given me a couple of suggestions on my surf/pier photography. No question, he had the best surf action images. He will be missed.

Unfortunately, our UHH friend passed away last Thursday, from covid. As a tribute to Brent I think it would be a nice gesture to share one or more of your favorite ocean-themed photos. I don't think many of us could equal the beautiful shots that Brent shared, but perhaps we could share ours with his family. R.I.P. Brent and God bless your family.
Oh my, I am so sad to hear of Brent's passing from Covid, especially since I had it myself just this past month. I always enjoyed his posts and his photography. My sincere and deepest condolences to his family. He will be greatly missed by all, for sure.
There are two aspects of Brent's life that stand out for me. The first was that he was an outstanding photographer; the second was that he was a good and decent man. The second is more important than the first. He was always gracious and genuine in his responses. I will miss his posts and his good natured replies.
I too enjoyed Brentβs posts, his images, and his kind responses. What a loss for his family as well as the UHH family. It feels surreal. I hope his family gets to see how much we all appreciated his contribution and will miss him. My sympathy to his survivors.
I want to make another comment about the passing of Brent Harder. I want to thank fellow hog, Ava's Papa, for letting us know about this. I realize that on this site, we are not all friends to the extent that we are going to be borrowing money or going to each other's houses for meals, but we do form some sort of a connection with others on this forum to the extent that when we lose a member, we feel it. While we do have younger members, I suspect that the bulk of us are in the second half of our lives. Unless we are told about someone's passing, as Ava's Papa so kindly did with Brent, there is really no way for most of us to know. At best, we would notice that a certain person hasn't been posting for some time. Many, if not most of us, do not know other UHH members in our daily lives to let the community know if something should happen to us.
I wonder if it would be a reasonable suggestion for us to make provisions (if possible) for someone in our lives
to send a message to UHH to let fellow hogs know of our demise. Someone with a lot better knowledge about the group could suggest how this best could be accomplished. I suspect that we lose members quite often and are never aware of their passing. Thanks.
