p1. Clever record player display. And the blue allum. What do they look like past their prime?

Thank you, sundar, for the challenge of vintage items that still work, are used, or provoke special memories.

This challenge takes a look at flowers (or weeds or grasses) that have moved from blooming beauties to wilted, withering, passed prime and on to demise. The challenge is to present them in an artistic way (maybe abstract, in an unusual setting, or with a special effect). No matter the stage, there is beauty and creativity to be found.

I have archives, but pushed myself to capture the life and demise of new bouquets - one of Gerber Daisies and another of tulips.

(A tip - check your supermarket and ask them what they do with flowers that are going past prime. Ours said they just get tossed and saved a box of tulips for me - free)
Thank you, sundar, for the challenge of vintage it... (show quote)

Pat, thanks so much for hosting. Great start off - love the tulips!

The tulips started to wilt and went a little crazy and so did I in trying to think of different ways to display them. Beginning stages:

At the time, it was well below zero, so I iced them in a tall vase.

The Gerbers got a little different treatment. I submerged them in water and set them out to freeze. The set up and some results. It was like a science experiment. The colors and bubbles made some "cool" patterns. I hope these don't bore you, but sometimes I get too stuck to think outside the box.

The frozen block had to be partially thawed to get the block out of the dish

Just took this one for fun. Also, for fun, I'm calling it "A spooky study in yellow."
