Pure love!!

There was a guy with his old black lab that walked his dog by holding up the back legs while it used its fore limbs. This happened whenever the dog needed to relieve itself. The sight was a heartwarming moment whenever we drove by.
In line with the thread about problems in communications, "John would float with him...until the end of his life." The problem of misplaced modifiers.
Mark, it is a beautiful, lovely photograph that says so much about the relationship that so many of us have with dogs. Forgive me but I want to tell you a story. Namely, I met my wife Jean in San Carlos, Mexico in December, 2007. Jean was born in London as I was but had been living in Mexico for years. Her American husband had died in 2005. Jean was rescuing dogs from the streets, healing them where necessary and finding homes for them, mainly in Arizona. She had more than 20 dogs around her home.
I sold my house and left Devon in 2008 and moved to San Carlos with my GSD Pharaoh. In 2010 we moved from San Carlos to Payson, Az. We crossed into the USA with 15 dogs and 7 cats much to the amusement of the border officer. Jean and I were married that year. In 2012 we moved to Merlin, Southern Oregon. Our cats have all died and we are down to 6 beautiful dogs.

I completely understand, I lost my best friend last year, after a wonderful 15 years plus. At the end he had a hard time walking, had to wear a diaper at night and just wasn't enjoying life at all. He would still try to be the swift, agile Border Collie he once was, but he just couldn't. I realized that I was not doing him any favors by prolonging his life, it was time to go. So I totally understand that man in the picture and what he is feeling. They are wonderful creatures. I have a 5 year old rescue now named Howard, not as agile, not as smart, but one of the most loving animals I have ever had. It's almost like he knows he's got it pretty good now, compaired to what his life was. We are so lucky to have our four footed friends.
