Do You Wonder Why Your Package Has Not Arrived!

Shipped packages via Amazon, Fed-X and other carriers are being stolen off railroad freight trains in LA! Thieves are jumping on the freight cars from overpasses and breaking into them and stealing the shipped goods. Much of the unwanted merchandise is discarded and thrown off the freight cars. The trains then must travel slowly
through the debris and merchandise piling up on the tracks, thus allowing the thieves to attack more trains. It's a vicious cycle. The railroad company has added more security along this stretch of track and promises more. I'm surprised Amazon and other companies as well as their carriers are not addressing this issue.

Google: "Stolen goods and merchandise from LA railroad freight trains" Click on the top 3 video links to see the vandalism and theft of ordered items.

Be well!

Perhaps we will soon see the resurgence of the "Pinkerton Agents" that rode the trains of old and shot and killed those that attempted to rob the trains and track down those that robbed and got away.

By the way, trains are part of the "interstate transportation network" that carries goods across state lines. It's a Federal Offense to rob a train so....Where's the Fed's and when will they start taking action? Of course, no action is acceptance of criminal action AND...where more than one individual is involved in the scheme it becomes "organized crime" and again, far different rules apply....if they are pursued that is.

I think the FBI should be involved, as well, as this is interstate transit.

As do many of us, but apparently the looters seem to have the same rights as the non-looters. I guess in order for a society of rules and laws to work, even the overwhelmingly obvious criminals are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. It's kind of like the concept of most locks. Locks help keep honest people, honest, and pretty much just slow down the criminals.
The cost of shipping will be going up as the cost of protecting the shipments goes up.

Item cost: 14.95, secure shipping: 59.95

Alas, Agent Woodcock worked in the mail car for E.H. Harriman chairman of the Union Pacific Railroad. The guys that chased Butch and Sundance were Harriman's "special" posse. Lord Baltimore, Joe LeFors, et al.

When there are no repercussions there won't be any slowing of criminality.

Will you be paying by the hour or by body count. Perhaps the state could issue a looters tag similar to tags for hunting deer. Win/win

A few strategically placed snipers would put a quick end to the problem.
