Simulate a picture frame?
The frame around the TV viewing area doesn't look nice?

Will they take a USB fob and display the images?
(I'll have to check mine.)

Samsung has a model I believe the call the " Frame " that the screen goes to the edge and the Frame so to speak can be configured to any look you want.... Like a BIG pic on the wall...

Good steer.

Amazing how topics drift off into weeds - I've no idea how people connected this info request to using TVs. Totally different and absolutely ineffective for job required.

Meural seems to rule... for now!

I do that in my first post because for large, high res image display the picture frames are too small, too expensive, and too low in resolution.

You perhaps need to look at purpose-built frames.

To the best of my knowledge there is no extremely flat screen that looks like a picture frame AND that has resolution or (more important) the viewing characteristics of frames like the Neural and the one or two others.

The Meural looks like a picture frame, not a TV showing a photo.

You gave me the idea of building the frame myself using a large screen TV. I can have a 4K screen enclosed in a wooden frame and cropped a bit because the 16:9 aspect ratio isn't good for most images.

my adult children set up a shared folder in their photos on their apple iphones. They both add pics to it and it syncs across their phones but also on their smart tv with the apple tv system. We are being added as users to that shared folder so we can view or add pics...all for one little chubby, bald grand baby.

When they are not using the tv it reverts to the shared pick folder as a screen saver. Very elegant solution IMO.

I have another dedicated pic frame and just add pics via a usb thumb drive...it works as well. it is a desk top, about 8X10 display.

For over 10 years, I've been using a $135, 32" 1080P Magnavox LED HDTV.
It was originally in the bedroom, but we replaced it with a 42"
I put photo collages, usually mixed with music, on an SDHC USB 3.1 flash,
and plug it into the USB port on the back of the TV.
I use Filmora video editing software, which allows me to easily change the
display time variables and the scene-to-scene transitions.
I usually try to put "where, when, who" captions on the photos, as required.
It works great for Birthdays, Weddings, Funerals, Conferences, Garage Sales,
Real Estate Open House, Dinners, Family/School Reunions, whatever.
I kept the original box, so moving the TV is easier, with less chance of damage.
I also carry a 50Ft, 16 gauge, extension cord, because I never know where the
AC wall outlets might be.

One more bit of advice derived from personal experience:
Don't leave the Remote at Home!
