The murder and rape of Miss Genovese did happen in the mid 60's she cried, begged for help for hours none of her neighbors or those who heard her cries helped or even called the police. Fast forward to the recent rape in a subway car none of those passengers helped that woman, I don't the police have the videos. NYC is broken it will not be fixed unless you can correct the mindset of those living in the inner city. They are the problem.

That’s an interesting observation. My opinion is that two incidents which occurred 60 years apart are not indicative of a “broken” city. As an aside, the Kitty Genovese incident happened in an upper middle class neighborhood far from the “inner city”.

Two..do you think there are only two in all that time?? Where did the killer and others like him come from...Kew Gardens is spotty not an upper-middle-class neighborhood.

Well, I really don’t know how many incidents there were. As for Kew Gardens, at the time of the Kitty Genovese incident it was a great neighborhood.
