Masterpieces and commerce are light years apart.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If I need a view camera for commerce then I’ll simply use my digital versions.
Film is absolutely out of the picture. No clients want to deal with it. It’s not for commerce. For artisans and hobbyists film has its loyal adherents. My old film gear is keeping several of them verrrry happy. But you can’t take happiness to the bank.
Commerce is not "commercial photography." Commercial photography includes industrial and major architectural photography where a view camera is essential. Commerce means selling.----
If I get the graphic---it means a revelation---glad to be of service--ID anonymous. Maybe such a revelation stands along side that by Canon instructing UHH members how to focus a camera? i.e. difference between commerce and comercial/industrial/architectural photography?-------
P.S----interesting you call the bird's head in a photo of a large bird and a young bird---"a very small section?"---- Whereas you criticized my photo of a giant Mikado steam locomotive-(full size representation) -as having the engineer soft--next to sharp as tack lettering?
Yes, if you put a 10x10 grid over my square cropped photo the section you zoomed in on would fit inside one of those grid squares, so we’re talking about less than 1/100th of the entire image. I’d call that a very small section. You said your engineer is sharp but you can’t even make out his face and if you think that lettering is tack sharp you should return those tacks and get your money back!
Regardless of the soft focus bird face and plumage---I did say you had an extraordinary photo which is more than I can say for your comments. On person commented on old trains---but otherwise---zilch.---
Keep it up guys---I expect this from the four or so of you. I only mention my two dozen cameras to reinforce there is a camera for everybody and for every planned occasion. (They are all different and different purposes) But none of you four understand that until you are making the same statement---that cameras have different purposes for different occasions. But then sense is beyond all four. And that goes in spades for those who fly off the handle like Architect of 1776. As many contributors have already said---they gave up UHH because of the rude, insulting, snarkiness. I can tell you whom they meant.-----As for the "good works"---how does that include the snarkies? Maybe Canon instructing on camera focus? Tell me a member who does not know how to focus a camera? Maybe, though the article was a revelation to Canon and he had to share his "good works?"------
I am currently shooting with a Nikon D850 and D500. Of course I am heavily invested in lenses. I am wondering if I should make the change to mirrorless and go with the Z7ll. I have read all the comparisons but I would like to hear from those out there that have experienced this change and what they think...
Before you jump into a Z7ii, read the very detailed review by froknowsphoto.com. He is very high on the new Z9 and tells how much better the tracking is compared to the earlier Z series cameras. You may want to look into getting a Z9 instead.
The camera I shoot most often is my Sony RX10MIV. I bought it for a special purpose, shooting from a kayak and I kayak a lot so I use that camera a lot. Yes that Zeiss lens that gets me a 24-600mm equivalent focal range is amazing. There’s nothing else I could easily handle in a kayak that would get me to 600mm at f/4. It also has pretty amazing focus tracking at 24 fps. That being said it will never replace my full frame Nikon Z7 or even my M4/3 Olympus E-M1X. Yes it has great IQ for a 1” sensor camera, but despite what some say size does matter. From a kayak I’m often shooting 1600 or even 3200 ISO. Everything has to go through Topaz Denoise. With the Z7 I’ve shot up to 8000 ISO with virtually no noise. I can get great images but the PP is a lot more involved. The other thing is ergonomics. It just isn’t as enjoyable to shoot. The back button is in a bad spot and too flat and the zoom is electronic. Some people love them as their #1 camera. While I love what I can get from it in a kayak it’ll never replace the others.
You proved my point. You use the camera because it is light and easy to take in the kayak. Op sayes he is having trouble with the weight of his Camera. Going to an mirror less camera will not help that. This camera is a compromise that would allow OP to continue shooting high quality pictures without carring around heavy equipment.
Since I do not use back button focus, that is not a problem but is good that OP know that.
The two bird's heads are the centers of attention in the entire photo. Even out of focus, though---great photo.----
SuperflyTNT, leave the 'last word' to our pre-school troll, who wishes just once in this lifetime he had captured such an image.
Better shine that light on your mirror.
If the people on this forum don’t measure up to your standards of photographic skills, or anything else that dwells within your extraordinary superiority complex, then just take your crap to another forum where you will no doubt be welcomed with open arms. In other words, just take your toys and go the hell away.
But isn't the last word on instruction on focus left to the "oracle of mirrorless photography"--Canon?----Or don't you know what should be in focus in a picture of two birds with long beaks feading?----
Oh preschool, make any new friends on UHH today? If you haven't been there yet, you might try out the Attic, think of it as the smoker's lounge or detention room, depending on your school years.
