Some tools can't be bought, but it's sometimes cheaper and quicker to make one.
Nicely built and creative solution.
A good tool, Frank.
I have a single shot 12 gauge that I bought when I was about 12 (77 now). I kicked fierce and we named it "The Mule. Still functions well.

This is no longer a shot gun:
It started its life in 1905 as a 12ga,and was given to me sometime around 1973/74 because it had a broken locking bar
I was working for Brown Shoe in maintaince so the equipment was available to me to make a new locking bar and at the same time I built a new barrel in Cal. 32-20 WCF using an old 8mm barrel from a k98 Mauser, I also made the reamer to chamber the barrel.
Three years ago I started doing another barrel in 25-20 WCF. During the build I sold my place and moved which halted the progress, finally this summer I was able to complete it, took it to the range and found the trigger pull to be way too stiff for my old fingers, last night I found and ordered a used main spring and strut so I can experiment with making the pull lighter and still keep the gun safe to fire and if I screw up I still have the original to fall back on.

I always shied away from Damascus barreled guns, but there were some real high quality Damascus barreled gun out there But not at the prices I could afford. However there were some gun that were made to look like Damascus that were perfectly safe for modern loads the way to find out was to scratch the barrel under the forearm and see it the pattern was gone.
Thank you very much Tom
I'M fighting boredom
Will be in search of a main spring to use in this gun, I need to reduce the tension to lighten the trigger pull without making the gun unsafe.Oh btw I turned 82 last Oct.
