Not a rant, but just for info. purposes. We have Comcast internet only, as we only use streaming services on our TVs. Just got the bill three days ago and the price of the internet service has been raised by $5.00. Not so much a big deal given the history of internet providers. If I do have an irritation with Comcast, it is this: we have had it for 14 years since we moved to southeastern MA, and the monthly bill used to come in the mail six days prior to the payment due date. Now, with the sketchy mail situation, we received our last two bills three days before due date.

Do any other Hoggers using Comcast have a similar situation?

On the unknown side, we will be moving out of state in four months, and will be dealing with Cox rather than Comcast.

Cox is no better than Comcast when it comes to raising rates. I think that is just industry standard for such a critical service for most of us. I pay everything with my banks online bill pay, and Cox sends an electronic bill directly to that account so it is visible when I log in. If I need to see an itemized bill I just log into my Cox account.

I received one "utility" bill the day it was due. (I paid it on-line like 3 days before it was due).
I, myself, wouldn't blame Comcast right off as much as the current hiccups in the postal system.
I have one utility that has yet to post my payment that I mailed on 12/20/21, which was due a day or three ago.
They stated that they have a bunch of people out and are really backed up.
I'll have to see what transpires and shows on the next bill.
USPS is still screwed up evidently.
I've been paying them as soon as I receive them.

Welcome yourselves to the late 20th century & sign yourselves up for email billing & online banking for paying your bills. Maybe consider the novel idea of having your bank automatically pay the recurring & always the same amount bills automatically? Y'all won't be paying $0.10 - $0.15 per check and then paying USPS for a $0.55 (or maybe even MORE now) stamp.

Maybe...
For me, mostly not.
(My bank doesn't charge me for checks.)
I can handle $5/month for stamps.
The less companies I have my account information at, the less I will be impacted by an intrusion to their database.

Assuming you pay your bills via paper check, each company has your name, address, name of bank and your checking account number.

But not necessarily in an on-line (web based) database.

My bank lets me have multiple accounts - create one for each bill or type of bill (utilities, insurances, IT) - set up automatic transfer into the accounts equal to amount due - set up auto payment with the biller and all their system will see is the isolated account created just for them. If the biller is hacked, they only get access to a part of your account. If the bank is hacked, it’s insured.

My bank sends out checks to the companies when I use online bill pay. So I get the best of both worlds

My bank provides that service also.
I like doing it myself though. Been doing it for 50+years

What can I say, we, like you, have Comcast only for internet, and I generally despise them! Hoping one day soon 5g wireless will allow me to cut the coax for good.

Sign up for paperless billing & auto pay. You won’t have to worry about paying on time and you’ll get a discount for doing so.

There are no good cable companies. Their motto is "Strive to Provide Less for More."

With the slowdown in mail delivery, Comcast could send bills earlier, but that would deny it the chance to apply a late fee to late payments.

Cable has always been a love hate relationship for me...I love the choices, but hate the bills.
