Great photo. Please let us know what equipment, speed, f/, tripod, hand held all that stuff. I'm really interested. Is this a cropped photo? I don't know how you got this so good.
Thanks in advance.
Jim

Here you go Jim...all my pics but a rare few are all hand held. I shot the male with my D7200 and the female with my D500 and used my Sigma 150mm macro for both, both great cameras and a great lens, so there wasn't much of a crop at all. (If any that I can remember) Both are still 3:2 as per the camera ratio. From memory, I shot about 5-6 of each fly and kept the best as I normally do...I always use spot focus as well..

Great Information. I want to try using your settings. Hope I can hold steady enough. I'm going to print this out and save it. 👍

Hi Jim, I've always had pretty steady hands/arms, I attribute it to many years of trying to hit a 4" gold spot from 90 meters with an arrow.. My spine has become much worse over recent years and I find I need to sit down to do my macros if I can...some like these damsels were too high and I had to stand but all the bush jammed around me made it easier to stay still.
