Hi folks ....

Well today is something I'd like to see you play around with, ''Tv ''or ''S'' or just plain speed priority.

For those of you who might not beware of this function for whatever reason, please hang around because like in tennis or golf if you always play with those of your level, you will never learn anything.

This setting is a great for low light situations, as in my case sunrises and sunsets, but works pretty much everywhere else, as you'll see.

Rule number one...( I got caught yesterday by it) is to set your ISO at 100. I do mostly nature and landscaping so my ISO is in AWD. I did a three shot series and they all looked pretty much alike because the AWD set me up ay 3200! Yuck.

As for my suns' comings and goings I like to set up before dawn's early light, with a coffee naturally, and start out a 1/4 or less. Thing is with sunrises, it is a 15 minute deal so you have to be ready. Sunsets are different as they drag out all evening and the clouds take over the colours. For a normal sunrise I may click off 50 - 60 shots and although it is fun, once back home fixing them up and all is time consuming.

Before going any further, I'd like some good vibes from you for Annette.....

Now these three are the results of my forgetting to setthe ISO at 100!

Hi folks .... br br Well today is something I'd... (show quote)

Great challenge RR - nice shots. Yes Annette needs our thoughts, vibes, and or prayers. She just called me and is still in the hospital, she got another call so that was all she was able to tell me but she said she will try to call me back later. If she does I will give you an update.

Gorgeous view! I'm a bit envious. I never get the chance to do sunrises or sunsets. (suburbs outside Detroit) Our yard doesn't have a view. I'm going to give this challenge a shot tomorrow, but I'm so inexperienced that we'll have to see how it works out. It might not be pretty lol.

p1 Roadie, thanks for stepping in. You are very good at this. Loved the examples. Fooled with shutter tonight with flashlight pix. Not sure I'll get to try this out tomorrow, but will try. Because of you I have been using Tv more often. AND I remembered to use ISO 100 tonight!

I usually shoot in manual so forcing me to do tv tomorrow is great thanks for the ISO tip because I usually leave that in auto, see if we get some more snow in the am! What does Tv stand for?
