A long time ago (maybe 10 years ago), I bought a box of Nikon Lens Wipes. Over time, I used some, and the rest gradually dried up inside their sealed packets. So, I decided it was time for some new wipes. This time, I ordered Zeiss Lens Wipes. See attached photo. Except for package graphics, the containers are almost identical in style and size. Both are made in China. The Zeiss holds 220 instead of 200, but, for essentially the same price, I could have bought a package of Zeiss with 200, also. I'm leaving the cellophane on until I need some. I think this is kind of curious. Do Nikon and Zeiss order from the same place? Or, do they license their brand? Are there any differences between the wipes?

I have done exactly the same as you. I have 2 boxes of Nikon and 1 box of Ziess. The only difference I feel is the ziess seem to have more liquid on the wipe. Both work equally well in my opinion.
Many products are the same. I worked in a pickle factory, they had a huge wall of nothing but labels and not just no-body types. Just change the labels in the machine.
Last year, no Grape Nuts cereal here, but local store did have their version, every spec. listed on the box was exactly same, only name different. Every ingredient, nutrient, etc. the same. box, weight, etc. the same. Wife had no problem with store brand. Now if exactly the same, why was store brand available, but not the name one?? P.S. not a one store event, no one had Grape Nuts for months.
Unless, Zeiss has it's own paper plant, the starting ingredients may well be the same used by others and made by one company. We often found at work that while many companies might produce a chemical, only one upgraded it to reagent grade or it came from making something else as a by-product. So during the great recession a wildly used solvent became priceless because of the lack of carpet production.

Nope as Nikon most likely did not make them but just had their name printed on them.
I get the Zeiss at Walmart for lenses, glasses, computer screens etc.

If Nikon and Zeiss were using the same manufacturer, why would that be a scandal?
If I understand you correctly, you would like a reason for it ?!?!?

Walmart owns both Nikon and Zeiss.

Yes, it's a simple question.
Why would that be a scandal?

Ah ! So you are actually John Swanda !
Unfortunately John, a superficially simple question does not have a simple answer. There are humans involved.

OK, I'll answer it. Companies use the same manufacturer all the time and put their brand on it. There is no scandal.

OH-EM-GEE !!! Say it ain’t so, Joe :-(
I searched both Bing and Google, but could not find who the real manufactures are. Both my CVS and Zeiss lens wipes say made in China. Found one company in China which all kinds of wipes, not specifically lens only, and says it makes "Private label" products and has lots of formulations to chose from. As far as I got.
