Has anyone else had this happen? Random, or somewhat random things (I have searched lens wipes) have ended up in our cart on Amazon that neither myself or my husband has added to the cart. One was shampoo the other lens cleaning wipes.

I wonder if Amazon is somehow adding things to our cart hoping we don't notice, buy something else and get the product and have to keep it as opposed to returning... or is someone getting into our Amazon account? That does not make total sense either as they don't buy anything and have it shipped to themselves.

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Another odd thing happened on Walmart. Someone used our account and bought vitamins. The weird part, they put in their credit card (not one of ours and the charge never showed up on any of our cards), and had it shipped to themselves.... I do not store cc info on the site and won't in the future. Changed the password and it has not happened again.

Any thoughts?

I've made many purchases on Amazon and even have their rewards credit card. Never had anything like that happen with my account. OTOH, a couple years ago when I signed up for the veteran's discount at Lowes, I gave them my phone number, with rea code in PA, and they came up with my name and address in a city in Florida. One in which I have never visited let alone lived in. It did get straightened out, but it did give me a little pause.

We have had problems with so called lost packages. One seemed to rotate between several post offices for more than a week. I called mine and they said it had never been there even though the tracking records I got said it had. Amazon then declared it lost, send another, then the first showed up. Cheap item so Amazon said keep both. I assume maybe a semi-damaged bar code?

This is a common thing with not just Amazon but any higher volume shipper.
What happens often is that the bar code is scanned and assigned to a larger tote or a pallet but it ends up tossed into a different one.
Your tote or pallet goes to the destination receiving center and they offload the contents and immediately reload it for the next location.
The computer system still thinks your items are still in or on the container since it was not scanned into the destination center.
I use to work at a warehouse so I am somewhat familiar with how it happens so often.

Thanks, it makes sense.

If I remember right, package went to Pittsburgh to my PO, then to another small town maybe 50 miles away, back to Pitt, then to Baltimore, then to my PO, to me.

I did have one go to same town, but in Utah and just vanish from there.

Funny! "Boy, I wish I had one of those..." And it arrives in two days.
