I loved Picasa -- but, now it is gone. I have struggled with the Google alternate and it is a P.I.T.A.

Any good choices out there? I love having access on my phone to Google Photos, but am still looking.

I still use Picasa

Now phone and internet are generally flat rate just like the software subscription but the electric or gas generally are not. Perhaps they Adobe should allow me to subscribe in the electric or gas model that is if I don't use the software I don't have to pay.

It's $10.00 a month, not a death sentence.

Maybe folks need a little cheese with their whine during the holiday season... People spend thousands of dollars on equip. but want all their software free.... If one can't afford 10 a month, maybe a new FREE hobby is in order. I go to Mickey D's one less time a month and gladly pay for Lightroom /Photoshop.

I got my digital camera 8 years ago. Although I paid more than $1000 for it I did pay about $1000 for the software so far.

I hear you Bebu... But Everything has it's costs. My Subaru Outback is 20 years old this January.... I could tally up ALL the Gas, parts and Maint. on that vehicle for 20 years and come up with a sizable figure. IMHO the 9.95 a month I pay for all the latest tweaks to Lightroom/Photoshop are well worth it.

Please do not compare car to camera. They are very different. If I don't have a car I would do almost anything to have one. I buy camera only when I have extra money.

Talking about cost of EVERYTHING, not just initial purchase price. You can't expect EVERY new advance in software to be free just because your camera is 10 years old. EVERYTHING has a maint. cost. ANYHOOT, the point is I will gladly spend 10 bucks a month.

OK but I don't need any new advances just like the OP in this thread which Picasa was all he needs. But of course I couldn't use Picasa. I did try but it's kinda difficult for me.

If free software gets the job done, why would I want to pay for software that essentially does the same thing? Because I already paid for equipment? I really don't see the logic in that.
