I was always told that shooting during the middle of a sunny day was taboo. I decided to just do it and I am happy that I did. The colors this autumn in Colorado were brilliant. I used a Fuji X-T3 and the colors are fabulous.
Rules are made to be broken, and you did a wonderful job!
Whoever made that rule wasn't much of a photographer. There is always something to shoot whatever the light conditions. Besides, one advantage of travelling in an RV is you can stop and take a nap or make a sandwich while waiting for better light if you choose.
Sometimes you just don't have a choice and have to do what you have to do.
Nice pic.
Beautifully done, Kathleen.
The only thing, at least here in South Florida, that keeps me away from shooting at midday is the strong light loaded with UV rays. Obviously, if shooting something like portraits in the shade there are no problems.
Up north and especially during the winter months the light at midday is very pleasant. We all know that early and late light makes for beautiful images and to repeat myself that is more obvious in this part of Florida.
One just needs to pick the right subject. On this one, you did well.
You can't get perfect light every time. But your shot is very well done, has no harsh shadows and is perfectly exposed. I like cloudy days because you can shoot any time of the day.
Rules are made to be broken. Besides your shots are in the woods without direct sunlight. Good shooting.
