Yes Thomas unfortunately the world believes what you own decides who you are.

That seems to apply to about 80% here on this forum.

That's because he who dies with the most toys wins.

I, myself, don't care what or how much people have...
Does not impress me.

About half of what separates a successful photographer from their peers is 30 megapixels.

Now, it that an opinion or am I expressing it as fact?

Inference has a LOT to do with it, a LOT!!!

I agree, but these are not personal care products. Given the ardent (sometimes verging on fanatical) brand loyalty so often expressed on these pages the phrasing and context suggest that this was intended as a deliberately provocative statement of fact.

BTW I agree with you about Irish Spring.

When you learn what camera was used to capture an image, you've learned the secret of photography.

Odd how this foments anger in some folks. I took it as a way to start a conversation. To me it could be a discussion about the arms race in photography, news services switching to Sony, the need for lenses to keep up with the tech, etc.

That being said, I would suspect that these cutting edge cameras are for high rollers and pros but also as proof of concepts (much like cars…think of adaptive cruise control years ago now in most all cars) that we (me) amateurs can expect down the line in our more reasonably priced gear.

Simmer down.

The proof is in the image. Where are your comparisons, where are your images showing such a claim. Otherwise, you are just another talking head with no evidence to back up your claim, just bravado.
It is a shame when amateurs come on UHH making claims about about a product being the end all to image quality.
Only professionals and advanced photographers know it is skill, knowledge, and experience that dictate image quality, not the equipment.
I hope some day grasshopper you too may learn a skill, even photography.

Luck is great, but for most of photography, it's really just about what brand you use.

Older and wiser voices can help you find the right camera brand, especially when you are willing to listen to those who shoot Canon.
