First of all (WC) who cares?
Secondly, I have yet to master my Canon 7D, 6D, 5DIV, or RP. So why start another project?
Thirdly, I am proof that you can't buy a good pic, except at an art gallery, grin.
Fourthly, I'm currently lusting after a Canon R5 . .
Fifthly, let the "Bench Testing" along with mine is bigger than yours comparo, etc.
Sixthly, Now where was I. . . sigh.
Smile,
JimmyT Sends

P.S. Are there any UHH members willing to let me "Hold" $8500? ~ Sigh

Interesting... Do you believe that one should establish their persona by the things they own?
Or by the results of the application of their skill, knowledge, and savvy in the field of their profession?

Yes Thomas unfortunately the world believes what you own decides who you are. I guess there is some truth in that thought. Lol. I personally don't believe in it to a great degree. I think it comes from long ago and far away when if you had a castle you were not a mere mortal but a King. Lol. Today many look down on the homeless and yet have no idea how they got there or who they really are. I personally believe all things are possible with hard work and belief you will succeed. Although most still fail from their greatest dreams. Usually due to lack of persistence. I among those. I was to busy earning a living to make a great amount of money. Lol Anyway good to see you and your images have given me a new way of looking at all those things that make a beautiful image.

Now, it that an opinion or am I expressing it as fact?

Inference has a LOT to do with it, a LOT!!!

That seems to apply to about 80% here on this forum.

Successful photographers do the one thing the unsuccessful are unwilling to do: they always buy the camera with the most pixels.

Odd how this foments anger in some folks. I took it as a way to start a conversation. To me it could be a discussion about the arms race in photography, news services switching to Sony, the need for lenses to keep up with the tech, etc.

That being said, I would suspect that these cutting edge cameras are for high rollers and pros but also as proof of concepts (much like cars…think of adaptive cruise control years ago now in most all cars) that we (me) amateurs can expect down the line in our more reasonably priced gear.

Simmer down.

To all I’m not buying another camera until it has 10,000 pixels! That’s my story and I’m sticking to it 🥸

There are no secrets to success in photography. You need the best equipment to create the best images.
