I am trying to pick the best signature to place on my work and I need some help. I will send alone an example, the signature is mine. Should I keep the signature, or have one made for me?
Use your own signature. It is fine as is.
Thank you, I also need it as an advertising on a shirt for a benefit I'm shooting.
Depends on the usage and the impression you want to make on the viewer or client. Some suggestion- stuff that has worked a well received for me and my crew:
If you want to watermark your work for copyright protection to avoid unauthorized use, simply use the (C) copyright symbol, your name in a clean readable font, and the year.
If you are selling any of your work as art, fine art, decore, etc. sign with your actual signature in the corner of the image where it won't become a distraction. Any other information as to your address, website, email, or any legalities can go on the back of the print or frame.
If you are creating an advertising poster, print ad, online ad, you can superimpose all your information on the prints or images.
If the image is for a commercial client for reproduction, advertising, etc. you should not watermark or sign the print or image Legalities as to copyright, usage, licencing, etc, should be stipulated in your contract.
T-Shirt- Feature your name in an easily readable font and include your signature as a logo.
T-shirts are a good idea at informal events. We use shirts with "Media Photographer" printed on the back and our studio logo on the front. On industrial sites, we use safety vests and white hard hats or ball caps with logos. At more formal events we use blazers or tux- jackets (formal) with conservative embroidered logos on the pocket.
Thank you, can you send a picture of what your shirts look like?

I am bit paranoid so I do not publish anything with my actual legal signature that can be copied. Just me trying to protect myself in these days of cyber criminals. Crazy times.

With regard to protecting yourself from theft of any thing you post on a computer, there is ONLY one way. Don't post it.

Why do you want to put this on an image? Or put another way, what is it that you hope to accomplish?

I wouldn’t put anything over a picture, but if you feel you have to make it very small and subtle. Your signature doesn’t work for me. Without your printed name underneath it is just an unreadable scrawl. I’ve never seen much point in that.

You can put anything you want on your print. Signature, logo, or the Gettysburg address, but, as above, put it on the back
Looks good to me. People will recognize it after a few views--so make sure it is affixed to good photos.
