Cheap shots may be entertaining for some but do nothing but further the divide that is tearing our country apart.

In all seriousness, what, specifically, has Biden done to cause the rise in gas prices?

PS - For the record, I am not a Biden fan.

I couldn't find the original post by Retired CPO in this thread. Could it be that this notice at the top of the Chit-Chat section was implemented:

I think you're right. When I saw the CPO's post, I started to respond but had to set it aside for a while. When I came back I finished my reply. I then noticed that the post I replied to had been deleted.

Sorry if I contributed to derailment of this thread....

Is this for real? Someone just posted this on Facebook.

Not real, Jerry. I paid $4.59 for premium yesterday when I filled up.

Mark, thanks for bringing facts to what shouldn’t be a political discussion. People who think any president can control gas prices doesn’t have a clue about global economic issues or the law of supply and demand. People should put politics aside and use their brain before typing.

I believe that photo is correct for one town about half-way between LA and SF. Apparently the people don't object.

And shutting down Keystone has no effect on the price of gas.

Actually, that is correct. Keystone was meant to move crude oil from Canadian oil fields to ports where the oil would be shipped to other countries. Very little or no oil was being sent to US refineries. In addition, once the pipeline was completed, there would be less than 1,000 American workers to maintain it. The environmental studies showed that this pipeline would be a disaster for migrating birds and animals, cut through Native American sacred lands, would always have the potential for spills and other environmental catastrophes. Think about the pipeline from the offshore drilling rig in California which was ruptured allegedly by a dragging anchor from one of the container ships waiting entry into the Port of Los Angeles. Some California beaches were damaged, as well as marine wildlife and birds.

It is interesting how the USA is trying to shutdown fossil fuel usage with no viable alternative on the foreseeable horizon. I guess it makes more economic sense to import oil & gas from Russia and the Middle East than to produce the abundant resources under the USA... Not! Sounds like insanity is rampant south of the border!?

Thanks for reminding me about the terrible environmental impact we would anticipate like the devastation created by the Alaskan pipeline. And I stand corrected that decreasing supply of a commodity should have no effect on its price.
