The tape on this B&H box was fine, but the box itself, well, not too good. The other side of the box was in similar condition. I received a box in similar condition on the same day from UPS. Because of good packing, there was no damage to either item.

You should let the company know how the package was handled.

I had a bad experience yesterday with FedEx. They left my package outside exposed to the western Washington weather, 3’ from my 30’ long covered porch.
I wonder if a delivery person could get any lazy-er!

Be glad they didn't toss it onto the porch! 🙄
Then again, that would take too much energy...

It’s a motorcycle helmet for my girlfriend’s birthday next week, so it should have survived if they did that. 🤣🥴🤣

Jerry, it was just your day to provide the rugby ball, tomorrow someone else's package will do.

Then again, my USPS carrier brought two packages of books and my letter mail to my door, rang the doorbell, and personally handed me the boxes and mail with a smile and a thank you!

A USPS van stopped across the street from me the other day. The postal worker walked to the back, opened the top hatch and started looking for the correct package, rapidly overhand-throwing the other boxes to the front of the van, each bouncing off the wall with a loud bang. Hopefully, none contained glassware. Just shows you that UPS and Fed Ex haven't cornered the market on abusing their packages.

I would suggest letting the carrier know about the condition of the packaging, also. The company that shipped it has trusted the carrier to handle the package properly but apparently it was not handled appropriately. Since the items were shipped with two different companies I'd notify all involved.

I hope this wasn't your new Hasselblad camera from B&H.

Yes.
They could be like the FedEx drivers around here who don't seem to want to drive into the area and will say they attempted delivery and no one was home.
It was a no signature required delivery and I was not only home but working in the front yard which is why I know that no truck came through the area.

I took photos of my damaged package unopened, sent them and received a refund.
Opened the package and the product was not damaged. It was a back stretch device. Even though it was bounced around it could have been distorted, out of alignment.
It still works good today, 7 years use.

I collect nutcrackers. Several years ago I purchased one from England. When it arrived it hung in a bag on my door with a note from the Post Office stating I should let the sender know he should package it better. The outer box was completely wet and destroyed. The inner box was also soaked. Fortunately the sender had it sealed in a bag and the nutcracker was not damaged. I had two thoughts. It came by ship that took on water,
or if by air, they tied a rope to it and dragged it across the Atlantic!
