Your approach has validity. Yet I note you found yourself disappointed with the sky color. The select sky technique I described might take you a few more minutes. Adobe has made it pretty smart, though. Give it a try once. You might approve.

Please understand that I'm not a cell phone advocate. But I really dislike doing PP work. If I can't get an image correct in 3-4 clicks, it's not worth it to me! I know others like to spend hours on an image. I spend 5 minutes. Now I may spend hours TAKING the picture, but not in PP work.

I have an old version of PS. I'm not sure it's possible in mine

Okay. Adobe probably has not put this filter on you computer, but I note you can manually select the sky. I used to do it that way with a gradient and other editing-tools. I found it tedious and time consuming although I believed the result worth it.

Thanks. I did see a luminosity mask technique the other day. I might look at that. I'm sqeamish about doing things like that.

Same here: "I'm sqeamish about doing things like that."

But to bring out the potential of my landscape images, I tried a few techniques.

Adobe keeps adding new tools, too, making editing simpler.
