These are all candid shots straight from the camera using a 420EX flash with a piece of white paper and a rubber band. A real budget set up.

Apart from the bad shadows because he is too close to the background which is distracting with a fireplace ! going through the back of his head they are fine

Thank's JR1 !!! Composition was not a factor at all. I have to take what I can get with a 2 year old. I was just concerned how the face came out. Hope to get him to pose for me some day soon. Don't understand what you mean with the 2nd post.

Personally I think you need to post process it

I have given it a more natuaral skin colour and remoded distracting backgrounds, and you know how fast this was dome

Very nice JR1 !!! I am relatively new to this and I wish I knew how to do what you just did with that picture. Just being able to remove something from the background would be great. Eventually I will learn someway.

Happy to talk you through it.

I use photoshop occasionally but day to day I use my 18 year old (compatible with all windows versions) PSP 7, in fact I have just bought version 9, and that is YEARS old, $12

I will for sure look into getting that asap and I will get back to you as well. Thank you so much. That will sure help me out a lot. I do have Photoshop 7 but I have no idea how to use it. Too complicated for an old guy. Have to go now.
