I used Nikons for years, since my first "real" camera bought from the PX in Vietnam for $106.00 complete with Photomic finder and 50mm lens. I think the lens was an f/2. I switched to Canon when autofocus came to fruition because I felt it was quicker and more sure. I like current Nikons like the 850, but will stick to Canon because of the huge bath I would take replacing the 8 Canon lenses that I own. All that to say that of the literally dozens of 35mm, digital, medium format and technical cameras I have owned over 35 years or so in the trenches, I have had exactly one repaired. That was one of a trio of Mamiya 645s used for weddings. That puppy was long out of warranty.

I really think that warranties are nice to have, but better insurance for the working pro is having backups for every thing you use.

Are you trying to piss people off or are you that stupid? I can't imagine any admin from FB claiming moral superioty over anyone. This forum, I thought, is for the exchange of ideas and opinions not for ludicrus threats and insults.

Depends on how much money I spent on the grey market lens. If it was 1/3 the price of the non-grey market version, then I simply throw it out when it breaks and buy another one. In the end, I am still saving money. As I have never had a lens that actually broke on me and required repair, I don't worry all that much.

...FB doesn't provide admins, it's all up to the person/entity starting/maintaining the page. So, the "...moral superioty" is up to the page admins. Ludicrus (sic) indeed.

You certainly must have a much different definition of "Toxic" than I do. I have come across a couple individuals on here so disrespectful I blocked them. CHG-Canon just makes me laugh a lot. Once in a while he gives "dumb" OP's a wake up call. Since Covid there has been a dramatic increase in "dumb" OP's.
