Thank you very much! Yes, they are. As to composition--God did the work, I just photographed it.

Yes, it is. The first 5 pics were taken from an airplane flying near the mountain. The last one was from the highway heading to Valdez--the mountain was directly behind us and we pulled off at a viewpoint to get the photo.

Yes - of course - silly me - if I'd looked at the EXIF of the last one (f200) I would have realised.
Nice to chat, have a good day.
Del.

Thank you very much. My tour group was very lucky--we had several opportunities to photograph Denali. Those are rare events.

Excellent series, David. You were indeed fortunate to have that clear day to see the mountain. I noticed that you were on a flightseeing tour and your pilot was good enough to take you up nearly level with the summit. Or at least it appears that way. Well done and thanks for sharing Denali.

Thank you very much. It wasn't a "flightseeing tour", just the normal flight from inside the park (airstrip in Kantishna) to the Denali Village at the main highway. When the mountain is visible the pilots usually detour a little to get good views. I've done it twice--more fun than several hours in that school bus!

I've got a lot more of Alaska to post to Flickr. Will get to it soon.

I’m glad you had a good time in the Park. And yeah, I agree, several hours in a school bus is no fun.

You were lucky to get those great shots of the big mountain. I lived near Fairbanks for four years and my big thing was to see and photograph Denali -- North America's highest. It took four separate attempts to get it. The last time a success by driving in and spending the night in sleeping bags with an alarm clock to wake us every hour. Finally at 0300 in the morning it was completely uncovered for about 30 minutes before clouds slowly built up and obscured the top again.

Great set, David. Looks like you took a flight around the mountain. Did that with my son, some 23 years ago when he graduated from H.S.

Bear2, thank you very much. And you’re welcome—I enjoy sharing.

Wimgpilot, I enjoyed your comment.

Hereford, it is said that only about 2% of visitors to the Park actually get a good view of Denali. I’ve been fortunate that in 2 of my 3 tours I have done so.

John, I don’t think we went all around Denali on that flight—we were actually just the run from the Kantishna airstrip to the main settlement at the highway. I did have a complete circuit of the mountain during an earlier visit, but Denali was not as clear then. Thanks for your nice words.

Srfmhg, thank you very much—your approval is always welcome.
