How did you get a Moderna booster shot when they have not been approved yet? Only the Pfizer booster has been approved.

Good for you, David!! I got my Pfizer Booster shot on Aug. 31, but I am currently receiving chemo for cancer. That moved me to the "head of the line".
Stay healthy!

Got my Moderna booster shot eight days ago at Safeway pharmacy. No questions asked. Piece of cake.

Only the immunocompromised are eligible for a Moderna third dose.
If you don't fit that qualification, how did you get a third shot?
Did Safeway think you were requesting your first or second dose?
Moderna 3rd dose (which is not the same as a booster) is only approved for cases of compromised immune system. No one else in the U.S. is authorized to get it.
Moderna booster is planned for those with normal immune systems. However, the dose of the booster has reportedly not yet even been set.
Moderna Covid vaccine doses 1 and 2 (and dose 3 for the immunocompromised) are 100 mcg each, but Moderna has asked the FDA to set the booster dose at 50 mcg, which is one-half the dose of the first two doses (or 3 doses for the immunocompromised).
So I wonder, what did you get?

I'm glad so many here haven't had side-effects. Can you tell me if you have concerns about ADE, and if not, why?

I got my Pfizer booster about three weeks ago. I felt absolutely nothing the first two shots, but had slight soreness for 2-3 days after the booster, about what I normally feel after flu shots. I take low dose methotrexate and prednisone which can slightly reduce suppress my immune system, so I have gone back to wearing masks when going into stores. I don't want to get covid even if the vaccines keep me from getting very sick.

I’m surprised at what a dangerous threat the socially distant unvaccinated pose to the multiple boostered vaccinated who are still capable of spreading the COVID-19.

FDA authorized a third dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine (full dose) for those with compromised immune systems on August 12.
Technically these are being called "third doses" rather than "boosters."

Pfizer boosters were approved (for select groups) on September 22.
It happens that the Pfizer booster dose is the same as the initial shots, but the Moderna booster will likely be a half dose.

I didn’t know the Moderna booster was available yet. The last I heard it was at least a few weeks away.

As I mentioned, I got my Moderna booster at Safeway Pharmacy. They’re also available at CVS Pharmacy.

I know that. There is confusion between a “third dose” and a “booster”. Some people eligible for a third dose believe it is the booster. The booster for Pfizer was first administered yesterday afternoon, the Moderna has yet to be approved.

I got a Moderna booster in August, six months to the day after my second Moderna vax. No questions asked except an online form which I answered honestly. Only "issue" is age. Got at a CVS pharmacy. In Savannah (GA) some CVS pharms have Moderna, some Pfizer. I had one day of all-over aches after the booster, then felt fine.

A Moderna booster has not been approved yet. You are ahead of your time.
