I understand your rant. I live in Florida and have ordered things that originated in California. It gets to Florida within 2 days and then the challenge begins. It starts in Orlando (about 40 minutes east of me) then goes to Ybor city (30 minutes west of me) then to my town and then up to Lakeland (30 minutes west of me) then down to Sarasota (90 minutes southwest) back to Ybor city and then to my town. If I'm lucky I'll get it within 2 days of arriving here lol

By that time you could have black mold growing on the package with as humid as Florida is. :)

I had a similar problem with FedEx. Suppose to expect a Saturday delivery of a Digital Camera by 4p.m. Received noticed that the camera was derived to my apartment front door. Opened up the front door no package locked the door and started to go downstairs and found the package sitting in front of the elevator door. Called FedEx and told them I never received package, do to fact signature was required for the item and I never signed to the package but still drive said it was left at the apartment front door. Three hours later I received a phone call from FedEx on this item and told them what was going on with this item and where item was found. Driver was fired the next day when he reported in for work.

Love it when a plan comes together.

I hope the same for you. Let me please suggest that you snap photos of your package when you finally lay hands on it. Take pictures of every side of it. Keep all paperwork associated with your purchase and the delivery snafu.

You may wish to do a video of the opening of the package, with a view to documenting any damage or irregularity. Doing so will aid returns, refunds, any warranty claim.
You have to protect yourself.

Keep us posted on this saga.

Yes indeed. I will post a new update in a minute.

I traced a USPS mailed prescription back and forth across the country for 11 days. At one point, it was at a hub only a mile from my residence in L.A., then flew off to Rhode Island! The postmaster said sometimes the envelopes get hung up in the edge of a box and it goes wherever the box goes. It's a good thing it wasn't a life-saving medication!

That is the frustrating thing here. I could have picked it up at the hub had I known it was making loops.

UPDATE #2
When I won the lenses (2) it appeared as if they were going to be shipped together. When the package arrived tonight it only had the Vivitar lens in it. (Photos taken). But the printed receipt shows both items which insinuates they were shipped together.

Now the interesting news... It is a beautiful, pristine, 50 year old Vivitar lens which is a 9.5 out of 10 in terms of condition. There are no mounting marks or scuffs on mounting surface. The glass is absolutely perfect and the body is smooth as silk in focusing. Paint is nearly perfect. I see a pinhead size chip in the paint that is bearly visible. It has a metal lens cap that is original.

Now for the bad news... IT IS NOT A NIKON F Mount!!! I don't know yet what mount it is but I suspect either a Pentax, Olympus or Vivitar camera. UGH!

I will go to Samy's Camera tomorrow and see if I can match it up as I am not a lens mount expert. I posted a photo of the mount and see if someone can identify?

The other lens is a Nikon F mount for sure...when/if it ever arrives.

This is just a frustrated vent. Stop reading here if you don't want to laugh.

I won two lenses on an online auction website the first week of September. Not so worried about the lenses as cost was miniscule compared to new cost. (I will post when they arrive). Their shipment started on Sept 9. They have crossed back and forth, up and down the State of California 4 times!!! The shipment was somehow stuck in the Fedex system. It required them tracking down the order and putting a new label on it and even then it traveled north and south another two times. The round trips went from Ontario to Tracy hubs. I notified Fedex that I was watching my package go back and forth and they put a team on it. I got a phone call this morning saying the package should arrive within a day.

These lenses have more mileage on them then all the rest of my lenses combined! LOL But... the good news is they have low shutter count. HA HA HA

We shall see how good of a score this is for $7.00 and $16.00 for the lens pair. It cost Fedex more in labor and fuel than what I paid for the lenses.

Rant over. Registered snivel complete.

A few months ago I ordered a brand new Panasonic FZ1000 M2 from Canada. They estimated 5-7 days delivery through the canadian, and United States postal services. Just after noon on the third day, USPS handed me my package, at my door. If I have a choice, USPS is my go-to delivery service.... I ask if ther is a choice, when ordering something.

Always a probable 50/50 chance of success with a FEDUP delivery......then they throw/toss it over the gate....watched them do it more than once....sensor/cam at the gate. No camera gear (or anything fragile) via FED-UP, and I never select them....FREE SHIPPING is almost always via FED-up, the ultimate "low bidder" on these shipping contracts.

I love USPS. Worth every penny of their service.

Fedup used to be good. I have heard their is a nationwide shortage of drivers for them.

UPDATE FINAL: I am blown away by the turn of events. I notified the online auction company as to what happened. Provided photos. They immediately refunded me the money for both lenses! And, they said KEEP the Vivitar lens as it will cost them more to ship it back then it is worth for them to auction! I was willing to pay for it and see if I can get an adaptor for my Nikon just to try out the lens because it looks so pristine. I am $50.00 ahead and have a new vintage lens to mess around with. And... another lens and speedlight on the way! WOW! WOW! WOW! lets hope it isnt Fedex delivery! But my guess is it will be.

ANOTHER CHAPTER ADDED! Tonight I discovered that yet another lens (another auction win) was mismanaged in shipment by Fedex!!! It was picked up at a Ontario, California warehouse and sent to the Ontario Fedex hub. My house is <2 hours from the hub. The shipping costs are for the most direct route. This should bring the merchandise to Fedex hub in my locale and then porch delivery. Nope... my lens was shipped across country and is now sitting in a hub in Pinellas, Florida!!! WTH is wrong with the system? Fedex is horrible and the poor auction company is getting hammered for shipping fees and product that is not being delivered in a direct and timely manner. No stars for Fedex.

Fedex Update: Lens #3 (third lost lens) was located and has shipped back to Ontario, California from Florida. It should be delivered on Monday if it doesn't take a detour to Northern California again. HILARIOUS! I will post a photo of it with sample images taken with it, if the thing ever arrives. I bought this lens as a random act of kindness to give to someone. So much for being kind in a timely manner. LOL
