I'm focused on Oreos and milk. Just enjoyed two evenings of 'desert' (an extra one!) of Oreos and milk with my 2 grandsons--9/6; during their weekend staycation. Never goes out of style!

I had a sheet of rubbery plastic reusable film that I would put on the television screen that came with an erasable marker. It was sold as a "Tom Terrific" membership club item. At the end of the episode, Tom would get into some type of situation that he needed MY HELP getting out of by me drawing what I was told to and where to draw it on the screen.

I had one of those too ! "When there was trouble , he was there on the double. From Atlantic to Pacific....He's Tom Terrific"... Weren't those plastic stick-on screens banned due to kids being bombarded by X-rays omitted from the CRT ? Whatever the case, they certainly were fun on a Saturday morning !

I think all generations have these feelings about "days gone by".

Tom Corbett and the Space Patrol on Saturday morning radio, sponsored by Wheat Chex and Rice Chex cereal. Send in a box top and a couple of dollars and get a clear plastic “space hemet” with blow up plastic “air tanks”

Ah, Tom Corbett on TV was my favorite and I had to be content with that until Star Trek made its appearance.

Hey Mark, how about Bobby Benson and the B Bar B Riders every Sat. morning. Captain Midnight and a decoder that you sent for so that you could decode the message the Captain sent on the Radio.

Soupy Sales was on in Detroit for years - remember white fang and black tooth? Sky King was also popular along with Wells Fargo.

Be well! Ed

Cost me 25 cents for that green film and crayon, a small cost for solving mysteries and building TV screen bridges so all my heroes to get away or catch the bad guys.

On another subject, why hasn't anyone mentioned "George of the Jungle?"

I sure wish I still had my cardboard ranch ordered from the Roy Roger's Show.....

Remember in the mornings getting ready for school watching TV Captain Kangaroo was on TV and then the 3 Stooges came on later on in the afternoon. Mc Hale's Navy, Rat Patrol, Combat, Get Smart, Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, Hogan's Heroes, The Munster's and the The Addams's Family. Remember those good old days.

If you miss the radio shows you can download apps to your phones to listen to them: Golden Age of Radio, OTR Player (Old Time Radio), plus some others.... OR you can go to the Internet website RadioEchoes.com . There are lots of entertainment to listen to.
