Oh that would be so cool! I did that with the Illinois River. You could see out quite a ways where clear water ran into the Big Muddy! Thank you.

You are welcome. You may also see it from the Columbia Bottoms Conservation Area. This would be downstream, not by much, and allow you to take a photo facing upstream to show both rivers.

I-70 where mile after mile is either corn or wheat. You find that boring? 😳😀😂

Since corn and beans are my livelihood, I find them beautiful.

My fellow Missourians covered it pretty well: Boonville Jefferson City then 94 to St Charles. If you have time you might want to visit Herman Missouri, quaint little German town on the Missouri River, should go in October. Have a safe trip and enjoy!

But be warned, don't buy any wine while in Herman as it is aged in redwood barrels and tastes about how you might expect wine so abused to taste. I was gifted 2 bottles by a friend. One was opened and, after the first sip, immediately disposed of. The other became one of the most re-gifted presents ever.

Thanks so much for the links! And I did look at taking a 2-lane instead of the 4-lane!

And remember if there is by some chance a good shot or view from the freeway it would be highly dangerous to stop on it and possibly illegal except for emergencies.
Occasionally there are side roads that go to view points but they are rare.
As stated before freeways are boring as one can possibly get.
I learned from my mother to travel the blue highways.
And do so all the time unless there is a specific short time frame to get from a-b and no stopping allowed due to work schedule.
Check this out for those who want to travel and see America and not just endless and boring pavement just to say you "Been There", I have "Been There" all over the place and many were airbases on the way to somewhere else not on the maps.

I'll be driving from Kansas City to St. Louis and beyond. Does anyone know of a picturesque place where I could shoot the Missouri River. Can't do any hiking and I don't have a lot of time.

Kaw Point on the Kansas side of Kansas City has a nice vantage point.

Near 1403 Fairfax Trafficway, Kansas City, KS 66115

I love driving the two-laners and do so at every opportunity. Thanks.

This barn is just off Hwy 94, between Jefferson City and Dutzow mo.
The Missouri River is somewhere at the end of the gravel road.

That looks really interesting. There's a note on their website that the trail to the observation area is closed. Don't know if I'm capable of doing the extra length. But sure looks like a place I'd love to see.

When I saw the title of the thread, I thought you meant "The Missouri"
