I'll be driving from Kansas City to St. Louis and beyond. Does anyone know of a picturesque place where I could shoot the Missouri River. Can't do any hiking and I don't have a lot of time.

Boonville has an interesting bridge hopefully someone else has more ideas, to me I-70 is one of the most boring drives I have made.
The other would be The Budwiser Clydesdale Farm in the same area, but I think you have to have an appointment.
Im sorry but I can't find the exact location of the bridge.
Or you could take Hwy 94 east out of Jefferson City there are some nice scenics on that drive, but your driving a crooked state highway so it could affect your time. It's best to start this drive at or before dawn.
Sharon and I did the trip on a cold foggy morning, It was beautiful!!
While in KC you could visit the Steam Boat Arabia museum.

If you have the time, I’d get off I-70 somewhere on your trip. If it’s the river you wish to see and shoot Highway 94 between Jefferson City and St. Charles is very scenic and follows the river. Hwy 94 is twisty and hilly in places and in others runs flat along the flood plain of the river. Lots of quaint little towns, churches and vineyards along the way. Old St. Charles is an interesting place you may wish to see too.

I did a real quick Google search and came up with some tips too. These are just a few I found.

Those places sound interesting - especially the Clydesdale farm!

Thanks so much for the links! And I did look at taking a 2-lane instead of the 4-lane!

Thanks. Unfortunately, I have time for only one mission this trip - and that is to add the Missouri to my collection of rivers.

US54 crosses the river at Jefferson City, and gives an opportunity for what might be some nice shots of the river with the state capitol building in the picture. You may want to park near one end of the bridge and walk out on it to get the best shot.

My fellow Missourians covered it pretty well: Boonville Jefferson City then 94 to St Charles. If you have time you might want to visit Herman Missouri, quaint little German town on the Missouri River, should go in October. Have a safe trip and enjoy!

Thanks. I am looking at the possibility of some time in St. Charles. I'll see how much time I have when I get there.

You have received many good suggestions. Please let me add one more. Edward "Ted" and Pat Jones-Confluence Point State Park. You may walk right up to the point of confluence of the Muddy MO with the Mighty Mississippi.

Oh that would be so cool! I did that with the Illinois River. You could see out quite a ways where clear water ran into the Big Muddy! Thank you.
