Just like the problem with having 11 fingers, count backwards on one hand 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 and add 5 for the other hand makes 11 fingers.

My Dad pulled this on me more than 60 years ago…I was about 8 or 9. Once he explained it to me I of course tried it with my friends only to find out it wasn’t that easy to explain it to them😳
