Updated today (8/19/2021) and can not start up. Gets halfway there then stops.
My wife, with separate account, has other problems with the update. She reversed to the earlier version and that works. I'll do the same Friday.

I just used PS, after updating, to work on an image and had no problem at all.

I too installed the update for PS/LR and had no issues with either the update or the use of either program. Wins 10 PC.

I have used it a couple of times without issue, but did have one photo that I opened as a smart object that took forever to update when I used the select sky button.

I’m always wary of thread titles like “BEWARE (some product)” instead of “(some product) Difficulty” or “Help With (some product)”.

Updated both yesterday and just tried them (having read this post) - both appear to be working fine on Mac Catalina.

We need to beware of people who cry fire, just because they burned their fingers.
A better thread title would be, "Is anybody else having problems with Photoshop Update".

Zero issues here... I'm running on a Late 2013 iMac with MacOS 10.15.7.
I can't remember the last time I had a problem with Adobe applications. It had to have been before late 2019, when I replaced the 1TB conventional drive in my computer with a 2TB SSD, freshly formatted, fresh with a new operating system, and fresh with virgin installations of all my applications. THAT fixed a world of hurt.

No problems with the current updates.
You might describe your problems so that someone here on UHH, who's possibly had that problem before, can help you fix it. Another option is to call adobe customer care. They will help you until the problem is fixed.
My experience with LR/PS is, that in more than 99% of all problems, has been operator (me) error.
