I grew up on a river that had flash flooding about twice a year. In my opinion, move to higher ground. (just try to be practical, not in-sensitive.) Hopefully they will build the new cabins up higher off the ground.
A friend and I were watching a towering Q building, and wondering how much water such a cloud might contain. Sippyjug104 appears to have approached the same question and at least partially addressed what we were musing about. Obviously it depends on how big each cloud is, but an acre-inch of water in a cloud like that probably represents only a small percentage of the total present. Thanks, Jug
Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
Very informative photos. Where in Colorado is this located?

Holy Cow....Mother Nature is a powerful force. For what it's worth, one inch of rain on one acre of ground contains 27,100-gallons of water which weighs 113-tons which is why all of that mass in motion can be so destructive.
Holy $&@&. Thanks for the math Sippy.
No such thing as all good or all bad. Rain is a blessing. And sometimes a curse.
