Yesterday we had another storm come through, but from a different direction. The river got much higher, but the RV Park had less damage. Water got into the buildings which are scheduled to be replaced with cabins. The pool will have to be drained again and is muddy again. The owner of the concrete batch plant next door almost lost his truck in this one when the retaining wall fell into the stream bed. The Virgin River eroded more of the campground tent sites but nobody lost anything this time. These storms are becoming a daily occurrence with the monsoon season upon us.
I'm getting really tired of shoveling mud.

The burn scars and monsoon rains are a bad gift combination that keeps on giving.

Holy Cow....Mother Nature is a powerful force. For what it's worth, one inch of rain on one acre of ground contains 27,100-gallons of water which weighs 113-tons which is why all of that mass in motion can be so destructive.

Thats just terrible for the residents and park owner, however the beauty of an RV is that it is mostly mobile and, in this case, should probably avail itself of this fact and relocate.

We are fortunate enough for our RV to be sitting on the highest spot in the Campground. It helps to be one of the employees here.

I am glad that you are not in danger, and it sounds like they are lucky to have you. God speed to you and everyone there.

So think of the thousands of acres surrounding the town that flow into a small stream, Virgin River.

But you better get used to it, the way the weather patterns have been looking the last few years.

It sure is... we've accomplished in decades what has taken millennia in past.

I live in Colorado also and the rain has been so welcome, yet it can be so destructive and you know!
