Your 1st and 3rd photos actually depict a turtle rather than a tortoise. Tortoises are strictly land creatures, at least in the Northern Hemisphere. Very nice photography on your part!

If you can’t live with the highlights, try shooting under exposed & raising the shadows & midtones in post Nice set.

Thank you for the correction (and your kind comments) - I just thought Turtles were large sea creatures and anything small was a Tortoise

Thanks Mate - sadly the water spray is part of the highlights and I was already underexposed -0.33EV

Thanks Mike - yes I love the sun shining through leaves and have taken several of different leaves which I've been very pleased with. I don't have them with me on the laptop but one in particular has Autumn colours of red, gold and green which is very spectacular. If I remember when I get home I'll put it in another post. (If I get home that is - at the moment locked down 2000kms north of home with the delta variant of Covid running rife through the local communities.)
