My grandpa had an old bathtub full of sheep dip for the dogs.
When us kids came in from playing in the weeds, he used to dunk us, clothes and all!

I can relate to that although my Grandma would shave me slick the day school let out for the summer so that she could check me for ticks. We lived in a rural area and the fields, woods and creeks were our playgrounds. I don't recall how many "forts" we would build in the woods or dig in the fields covering them with brush to hide in.
Sunburns, chiggers and ticks were all part of every summer in my younger days.
