Very nicely done, Mike. The downloads are beautiful, especially considering they were taken through the Glass door.

Yes, I have not seen that type of quail in our neighborhood. Cheaper and easier than driving to Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge (LOL).

I have not taken any bird shots for many weeks because of the drought, heat, wind and bugs. To my pleasant surprise, yesterday my wife pointed out two California quail on our patio. I could not open any doors for fear of disturbing them, so the attached set is taken through a window. They hung out under the patio table and then went to the fence and walked away.

Please forgive the poor detail, but I am not at my best trying to use a 200 - 600mm lens handheld.

I always believed Quail only ate little seeds and things of that nature and I've found so many believe it also. Well, I had a trail camera and set it in our patio with hamburger (with cuttlebone inside to prevent rickets.) and in the trail camera I have evidence of quail eating and teaching the little chicks to eat hamburger.

There's always something else to learn in life.
