When I first met Alan 49 years ago, he had a friend who was always having scrapes. But he had a very clever son who wanted to write. He turned to comedy, and became one of the most famous comic writers of many years. He based his most famous character, Mr Bean, on his father! I can't think of his first name ATM, but his surname is Driscoll. I would love to think that Matthew will do as well in whatever he wants to write.

Thankyou my Saxy....things have a way of working out. We shall see.

Good luck with your cleaner boss woman. You will be happy when you have someone coming regularly again. I hope they know how to put the caps back on the containers.

Haha..they bring their own cleaning materials so it doesn't matter haha.

Often real life is funnier than written comedy.

I know that when I went to classes, most stories and scripts were based on real life. I did enjoy those classes

In Australia, so far, there have been at least 8 people, in the over 50's, who have the Astra-Zeneca and also developed clots; and a couple of them also died. There is also only one vaccine, the AZ, that I am allowed to have, due to my age; and the under 50's have to have the Pfizer vaccination! This vaccination problem (for me), is the only time that I have ever been so worried about any Medical thing, and I might be fortunate enough, to be able to get my doctor to give me an exemption from having the Astra-Zeneca ..... I can only hope! xoxoxo

Got to tell you what I think Judi. You are safer with a vaccine than not. Give it a lot of thought. Your family won't want anything happening to you. Neither do we......no offense meant...

Well, I wore the dress and tights/pantyhose, the only pair I have, and they were not very good at staying up and kept wrinkling round my ankles, not a pretty sight!!! The shoes, however, stood up to the test pretty well, they got a bit rain-spotted but dried very quickly, back to their pristine state!!! My DD, usually the glamourous one, wore a lovely long summery dress with knee high boots that have a very high heel and she had quite a walk from the station!! She also brought a raincoat because she isn't as daft as her mum, who just had a linen jacket!!! Yes, it was lovely to see her, in spite of our different opinions about stuff, she is my very best friend!!! xxxx

Wonderful to have a daughter as a best friend. I am avoiding contact with my daughter right now. She has irritated me so much this week and I bet she does not even know it. I think it is best to avoid contact until I can keep my mouth shut.

Good to cross another thing off your to do list. Having the oil tank ready for the winter weather that is a long way off will be a good thing.

Just got to get it filled with oil next. xx

Yes, that's a lesson well learned. Time will heal and irritation will pass!! xxxx

When I’m in that frustration now I tell myself the things he did that were good and praiseworthy. It eases my mood.

Glad you got an appointment. Wonder why appointments always fall on the same day when the other days of the week are appointment free.

Good Saxon Lady got an appointment tho bad on that date. I tried 6 or 7 veterinarians before I got one who could see my dog that day. She was bleeding and urinating tho she has never done anything on the floor before.always house broken. Turns out she has a urinary infection. Most vets wouldn’t take new patients or had no available openings. This one was pleasant and reasonably priced. I’ll go to her again but she only has 5 years experience. Son says it doesn’t matter because she’s up on latest information. She even called to ask how my dog is doing on the meds. If anyone is near Price Chopper they sold me her meds for $8 and other places asked for $28 or $25.

I agree with your son. She is up on the latest information and medications. I think the same about a human doctor. Although I often get a second opinion from an older more experience doctor.
Glad it was just an urinary infection. Hopefully will clear in a few days.

I just got a video of my greatgrandson's graduation ceremony from kindergarten. He got the award for sharing the best fun facts. His parents had to laugh at that award. They looked at each other and said he won the award thanks to greatgrandma. I am always giving him what I think are interesting facts about animals. Guess he found them interesting if he was repeating them in school.
His biological parents were in attendance. They confused the teachers. Seems it was the first time a divorced couple came together to celebrate an accomplishment of their child.

Once I had a white couple come to parent night for her black child asking him to celebrate Christmas. Then the black couple came and asked he not celebrate Christmas. The first pair had me scratching my head. I didn’t ask. I told them to instruct him as they chose and I would not have any say in it. I think he accepted treats and then went to the computer to have his fun time while they had Christmas story. Long time ago so I think I’m remembering
right.
I was not sure who was who when another time I was speaking to a couple and the lady referred to the child’s mom looking at the husband. Turned out the husband was a gay woman dressed masculine and the child was her biological son by someone else.
My funniest memory is when I was teaching a small reading group maybe 3 children and the boy said his mom said he couldn’t read the bad word in the book. I didn’t see a bad word so I asked him to point to it. The character in the story was “Dick”. I didn’t know how it was a bad word so the boy explain it was what made little boys different from little girls. I went across the hall and asked my coworker. And she said he was right. We both went to religious schools and homes where we were never taught that word. She learned it from her hub.

I shifted the iPad and lost my longer comment so I will be brief now. I’m happy to read how you all are getting to be with family and friend compared with how we all were kept apart a few months ago. I found yarn which is similar to the expensive one suggested for the jeans jacket. since I knit slow I think I should do the 10/11 directions for the 8 year old. The other says it’s for 8/9 year old. I don’t know if the dad will send me the 3 measurements I wanted...neck to waist, chest, sleeve length. Better bigger than smaller???

You;ll be rooting through your clothing to find something. You can dress up anything with a nice shawl.
Have a nice tea with DD.

I saw a beautiful book of shawl patterns. When I saw it was $30 I talked myself out of it because I have many very nice patterns but this one was enticing. If I’m still craving it I might go back and get it. By then it might be sold. I didn’t get the name.
I’m working my way back from last posts I missed so trying to limit my posts. Trying ...not succeeding.

Hello everyone, I've had a beautiful couple of days. I went to the family and stayed over. This morning Stephen got me some things at TESCO and the coffee was on offer. So he got me a dozen. I slept pretty good last night but very warm. Sue washed my hair this morning, and then they were going to some haunted castle. They've sent photos from Richmond. I called at the crem and took some cream roses and then called at Asda.got back with my bags and Karen says do you want a drink, well, ok that sounds good so I popped frozen stuff in freezer and went next door.

Now then.....Matthew is finished with uni just done his 3rd year. He got results yesterday. He took 6 modules and he got a first in everyone. Who's a clever grandson eh. Chest sticking out more than usual. Grandad would be so proud too. When he told me last night he sat on the end of my bed for about an hour and we had a lovely chat. Laughing at some of the pickles grandad Albert used to get us in. And all about what he would like to do for a career.

That's my boasting for another day, so I'll leave it there. I've got to have something to eat, I'm starving. I've missed my lunch somehow today. Love yawl take care.
