I tried a lot of placements and croppings on the original. As I remember, and this was some time ago, I introduced a slight vignette to this one and that was as far as I got until I introduced the clouds. Hadn’t given it too much thought since. Centered preserved in some way how I perceived him to be lost in his thoughts. You think he could have been smaller?
His being smaller might work with your "lost in thought" idea too. I was interpreting a bit more spiritual feeling, but not sure how to get there.

You have me thinking. My thoughts were far from spiritual. Placing the subject left of center implies that he is entering, whereas I was content with his being there. Im happy to send you the files so you can pursue that.

We've seen many pics where the subject of one photo is places on another. And they usually look like they've been stuck into the other pic. This one... okay, he might have been a little to the left. Okay, he might have been a little smaller.

But this one just strikes me as being much more creative than most. And here's what is done so well here...

Look at his feet. They are disappearing into the close. He's not stuck onto the background. He's actually walking into the clouds. He's moving. He's actually there.

That little detail makes it stand out. Very very well done.

Nice concept, I can see why you wanted to do it. Not sure I’d have thought that way. Nicely done. Are these your own shots or someone’s stock?

Can't believe I missed seeing your post. Better late than never. The beach walker was a fairly recent shot from a few years back, and the clouds I got on a return flight from the west coast. I had to put in a little work to reduce window glare but I was really happy to have had my camera ready. 6 meg canon with tamron 24-70.

So much the better for being your own images, good to hear it.
